April Cold Conveyor Snow
A near record warm day was observed on Saturday, 08 April 2000 across central
and eastern PA. A strong cold front marched across the State from west to east.
Showers and thunderstorms were observed along the front. Temperatures soared to
near 80 in the east during the afternoon while temperatures fell into the 50s
and 40s in the west behind the front.

The cold front reached the lower Susquehanna valley by around 4 PM, bringing
rain and thunderstorms.  Colder air moved in behind the front.  Snow showers
began in the northwest mountains that evening. By 3 AM snow was falling over 
the lower Susquehanna Valley.  Many locations in Lebanon, Dauphin, and LancasterCounties received 2-5 inches of snow. The snow ended around 9 AM.  

The snow melted away by noon.  Heavier snow was observed later that same day
in New York State. Albany reported 13 inches after being in the 70s the day
before.
