This page shows some of the distinct radar signatures associated with the severe weather event of 14 August 1999.
This event was marked by several supercell storms over York and Lancaster Counties and a distinct bow echo, which moved across the middle Susquehanna Valley. Most of the damage occurred during the afternoon hours of Saturday 14 August. Several of the supercells in York County were very deep storms and produced elevated high reflectivity cores. Several cross sections are available to show these storms.

Method:
Archive II data were used to examine these storms from our RIDDS tapes and displayed using WATADS. Storm reports came from locally collected data.
